The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation Announces New Vice President of Philanthropy and Strategic Steps to Reorganize its Business for Future Growth
(Saint John, NB) – The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation (SJRHF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Angie Kelly, CFRE, as its new Vice President of Philanthropy.
She has been promoted to lead a growing philanthropy team at the SJRHF and work with donors to help advance healthcare in New Brunswick.
A passionate leader with over 20 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations on fund development, team building, strategic planning, and analytics, she brings a wealth of experience to the position. This includes previous work at The Ottawa Mission and serving on several boards, including the Interval House of Ottawa, the Canadian Association of Independent School Advancement Professionals, and The New Brunswick SPCA.
“Angie has strengthened our senior management team and significantly supported our momentum with our leadership-giving fundraising priorities. She is deeply passionate about philanthropy and recognizes that donors are at the heart of all we do. I am looking forward to her leading the SJRHF’s fundraising strategies and bringing her years of experience to empower her team to support our mission,” said Shannon Hunter, President & CEO of the SJRHF.

Strategic steps have been taken to reorganize and enable the SJRHF to maintain current growth while advancing fund development capacity and prioritizing relationships with donors, the Foundation team, healthcare partners, and the community to achieve results.
Andrea Watling, CFRE, has been an integral member of the SJRHF since April 2012, helping to raise millions of dollars to impact patient care. She will step into the Director of Leadership Giving position in an acting capacity to ensure the stability and continuity of the Leadership Giving team. This will provide an efficient solution to bridge the gap before recruitment in the fall of 2024.
Sarah Peiser, Communications Manager, has been appointed Director of Communications to support the SJRHF's growing brand, communications, and digital needs. Sarah is a versatile communicator known for her creative approach to storytelling and attention to detail. In her new role, she will lead brand efforts to position the SJRHF competitively while providing oversight to the Communications team.
