Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation launches its first-ever Spring Lottery
Proceeds from the Spring Lottery will help fuel Surgical Excellence at the Saint John Regional Hospital
Saint John — What began in 2008 as a single home lottery has grown into one of the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation’s most successful and anticipated fundraising programs. As interest and demand from New Brunswickers have grown, the Home Lottery has continued to evolve — expanding ticket volumes, introducing new and enhanced prizing, and creating more ways for supporters to participate. Over the past 17 years, the program has generated more than $21 million in net proceeds to support access to health care for patients across New Brunswick, benefiting not only the Saint John Regional Hospital but also numerous hospital foundations and health initiatives throughout the province, extending its impact well beyond Saint John.
Today, the Foundation is proud to mark another significant milestone in the program’s evolution — the launch of its first-ever Spring Hospital Home Lottery, introducing a second hospital home lottery for New Brunswick and reflecting the continued strength, momentum, and demand behind the program.
With the addition of the Spring Lottery, New Brunswickers now have even more opportunities to win extraordinary prizes while supporting health care close to home. The program also delivers benefits beyond health care, with dream homes, cottages, and other prizes made possible through partnerships with local builders, designers, suppliers, and businesses, helping support communities and the provincial economy.
“Our lottery program has played a vital role in strengthening health care across New Brunswick, helping support shorter wait times, improved patient comfort, and access to advanced tools close to home,” said Jim Mowbray, Chair of the Board, Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation. “The launch of our first-ever Spring Lottery is an exciting milestone for this program, and we are deeply grateful to supporters across the province whose participation continues to make a meaningful difference for patients and families.”
“One of the most meaningful parts of my role is meeting and connecting with our winners from communities throughout the province,” said Shannon Hunter, President & CEO, Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation. “So many have a personal connection to the health-care system — as patients, caregivers, or health-care workers — and understand firsthand how essential strong health care is in their lives. Knowing their support helps strengthen care for others, while also creating life-changing moments for them, is incredibly powerful. I’m thrilled that we now have the opportunity to share that experience twice each year through the launch of our Spring Lottery.”
This year’s Spring program is showcased by a stunning $1.4 million-dollar grand prize showhome in beautiful Rothesay, plus $50,000 cash.
Proceeds from the Spring Lottery are projected to be over $1M and will help fuel Surgical Excellence at the Saint John Regional Hospital — the province’s primary referral centre for patients living with complex medical conditions requiring specialized surgical care.
